Teaching English |
There are many opportunities for teaching English in Radomsko. Although they do not present an opportunity to present the Gospel directly (due to rules prohibiting that kind of work in schools - similar to in the UK), they do present opportunites to to make introductions to large numbers of students who are often just as friendly and approachable out of school when there are no restrictions in place. An excellent working relationship has been established with two of the local schools where Frontline Poland workers often go to work. As part of this growing relationship NLBH took on the sponsoring of an "English Song Competition" that was held in March 2003. This is just part of the commitment to the local community that we wish to demonstrate. We have also begun to work in a school in Częstochowa which will hopefully feed into the work of Hosana Church. In addition to this there are opportunites to hold private lessons, this is beneficial for two reasons. Firstly it provides closer contact with individual students and therefore presents more opportunities for the Gospel. Secondly it provides an opportunity to do some "Tent making" as a means for making provision for living in Radomsko. During term time there are opportunities for those who are interested to participate in schools work, and TEFL, TESOL qualified people are welcome to join us. |
