Applying

To be eligible to participate in our missions programme you must: -

• Have a reference from your pastor.
• In some instances for long-term workers be able to attend an interview with a member of our Missions Team.
• Be able to raise your own support.
• Be prepared to submit to the authority of the team leader and not come with your own agenda.

We value volunteers as the best resource we have and we want to release you into mission. So if you can you serve, we need you.  We need children’s, workers, TEFL qualified teachers, practical people and others who can serve the vision by ensuring that all the jobs get done (however big or small).  Maybe you would like to try your hand in working in the foreign mission environment and are not sure who to go with or where to go. Radomsko offers a non-threatening and inexpensive missions taster, for those who wish to experience mission. It will provide an invaluable opportunity to experience mission life and give an opportunity for God to speak into your life. If this is your first mission trip we recommend between two weeks and a month and to aim for late spring/summer when the weather is more pleasant. There will be opportunities to do some sightseeing during days off whilst in Poland although costs of these are in addition to prices quoted below.

With the base being a permanent fixture we are able to facilitate workers all year round, so if you sense God is calling you to work in Poland this could be the place for you.  Placements start at two weeks, but within reason you can come and stay as long as you are able, although you will need a visa if you intend to stay for longer than 6 months.  If you are TEFL qualified this provides an ideal opportunity to hone your skills.

NB If you plan to come for more than three months air tickets become very expensive and difficult to acquire and this often means that the Eurolines coach is the only realistic option.

There are two basic options for travel to Poland as follows.  We will make all bookings for you. You are responsible for getting yourself to the UK departure point on time.

Coach
You can travel from London Victoria Coach Station on a Eurolines Coach for about £90-00 (if booked early enough and slightly less if you are aged under 25). This will take you to Czestochowa, and then it is a 30 – 40 minute train journey to your destination – Radomsko. However we would only recommend this for hardy travellers as the coach alone takes approximately 26 – 27 hours! The ferry crossing is included in this price.

Flying
You can fly into Warsaw International airport. Generally we will fly you from London Heathrow, but you may have another preference – please be aware that alternatives may prove to be more expensive. Prices and Carrier may vary, but we will aim to get you the best prices possible. As a guide for a stay of less than three months you will generally pay £200-00 or less. Radomsko is approximately 2 ½ - 3 hours away by car/train.     

Please note in both cases we may not be able to book the exact dates requested due to timetables and changes made by Eurolines and the differing air carriers.

However you travel you will be met by one of our field workers when you arrive in Poland who will organise the transport for you to get to Radomsko.  

Group Concessions
If you wish to come as part of a group travelling on the same dates we can offer a discount; this only applies to groups of four or more people. We can reduce the costs by £5-00 per person per week. (i.e. £55-00 for the first week and then £45-00 for each additional week/part week that you are involved). If this applies to you please send all of your application forms in one envelope and make sure that you fill in the group section on the application form. Please note if this is the case deposits are unchanged.

Please note that there is a £5-00 surcharge per person on all bookings this is to cover administrative costs and to cover Recorded Postage of your travel tickets to you. 

Accommodation is based in a flat and living conditions will be simple, but clean and may mean you sharing dormitory style with other volunteers. Rotas will ensure the smooth running of the team flat for cleaning and cooking duties.
