Another key area of work is with
children. This splits broadly into two areas. There is a Sunday
School which is overseen by Rut Gościej
and in the summer there are outreaches aimed specifically at the children of the
city.

The Youth Group |
All the members of the Youth Group are aged between 12 and 20. They currently meet on a Saturday afternoon in a local flat under the direct leadership of Richard Horton and Kamila Krawczyńska who are responsible before Wiesław Gościej the church pastor. At the heart of the group there is a vision to see growth during 2003. The vision for this growth is to be both spiritual and numerical. Currently much emphasis is being put on our mission as a church to encourage evangelism and outreach within the group. Another major emphasis being placed on the group is to increase the level of friendship among it's members. Many of the young people only meet together at the weekend in the meeting or at church. More interaction with each other is being encouraged, as this in itself will help to look after the pastoral needs of the young people. Specials are held to encourage outreach, visits to local cafes, seasonal parties etc. All with the aim of bringing them closer together and bringing others in. Teaching is presented informally and openly with the young people being encouraged to question and search for themselves. A discussion forum is often used, as is role-play and other means to encourage interaction. All of the young people have been encouraged choose two people to pray for and to witness to fruitfully during 2003. The names of these people have been written down and each young person keeps their own list in their Bible and a main list is kept with the Youth Leader.

Social Action |
Another key component of church life is that of social outreach. Every Christmas with helpful sponsorship from Samaritans Purse needy children are gathered together and given Christmas presents that they would not otherwise receive. A similar programme, sponsored from the USA in May 2002 saw 300 needy families receive aid packages that included food and everyday items like soap and toothpaste. In addition similar packages were also given to families of children who attend a school for the disabled. |
